The New Road Shirt honours the history, pride, and resilience of North Preston — one of Canada’s oldest and largest Black communities. Before it was formally named, locals called it simply “New Road,” a name that symbolized hope, fresh starts, and the path they carved for themselves.

The design features bold collegiate-style lettering with “New Road” across the chest, “Nova Scotia” below, and the founding year 1783 — marking the arrival of Black Loyalists who settled here after fighting for their freedom in the American Revolution.
